Well what if I told you that a handful of people you’ve never heard of in Benton Harbor, Michigan are behind all those flameless electric candles you see popping onto the shelves this holiday season?

At some point in the last few years you have probably seen the flameless LED candles that have been making their way into the home décor isles of your local home goods stores. However, you may be surprised to learn that nearly all of these electric candles owe their beginnings to one small company in Michigan.
Jenesis International Inc was started as a contract engineering firm with only three employees in the late 1990’s. At that time LEDs were just starting to get big, and one of our engineers had the bright idea (pun intended) to use them in a battery powered candle product. We knew the whole thing came down to having a pleasing flickering flame and we hunted high and low for an existing electronics package that would give us that effect. Unfortunately most products that were available at the time did little more than blink. So we put our skills to the task and came up with not one, but multiple designs that gave us that warm, twinkling candlelight that no else had yet been able to capture.
With the introduction of our pleasant and realistic flicker the flameless candle market took off. Now nearly every electric candle on the market either uses one of our designs or was heavily influenced by our original work.
Jenesis has grown quite a bit since those early days. Working quietly behind the signs on behalf of our many contract patterns, we now have over 30 collective patents covering everything from wireless doorbells to motion sensing security systems. And just recently we’ve begun creating and selling an array of wireless LED home lighting products directly to consumers. These attractive and versatile products are available in a few stores here and there under the brand name Xodus and through our new website, JenesisProducts.com.
