Mavea Water Filter Pitcher Review and Giveaway!

Our water here in Las Vegas is just not something you want to drink straight out of the tap! It's incredibly hard and had that sort of mineral flavor that you get from lake water.

The water in Las Vegas is pulled straight out of our own gorgeous Lake Mead. The down side is that it's almost impossible to drink straight from the tap because it's very mineral heavy and has a slightly funny flavor.

I decided to check out the Mavea Elmaris XL Water Filter Pitcher and I have to say I'm really pleased with it so far!

I decided to try to drink water a little more often mostly to improve my health but also to eliminate some of those nasty extra carbs. I really needed to find a product that would filter the water in the right kind of way to make it drinkable again.

I tried another brand of water filter pitcher and I guess it did an OK job but it took FOREVER to filter the water and I had to keep refilling the filter reservoir to fill the pitcher all the way. Even when I did get it full the filter took up so much room in the pitcher there was barely 2 decent glasses in there! Seems like an awful waste of time!

So I got the Mavea Elmaris XL Water Filter Pitcher and I have to say that so far I'm really loving it!

The best part of course is how much better my water taste but it also has lots of other awesome features that contribute to how well it has been fitting in to our home!

The pitcher area is plenty big enough to only need to fill it once or twice if you want it full to the top. Even with filling it twice it's really no problem because it filters quite quickly! The pitcher is plenty big to get several glasses out of it and the filter area is tapered so you can fit a little more water in there than the water filter pitchers from some other companies. I also really like that I don't have to remove the lid to fill the pitcher. It has a gravity flap on the top that opens when you put pressure (or water) on it and closes again as soon as it stops.

The pitcher comes in several colors. I choose black but they also have white, purple, green, and red! I love having options like that so I can coordinate my kitchen decor! The replacement filters for it are also quite affordable at only $7.67 a piece.

Overall it's a really clever design and I just can't say enough about how much it has improved the experience of drinking water in our house!
